Send Outlook to System Tray
I found a nifty registry hack that users of Outlook XP (2002) can use to force Outlook to minimize to the system tray, instead of taking up valuable status bar space.

Follow these steps, but only if you're comfortable editing the registry:

Open Regedit.
Go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\
Office\10.0\Outlook\Preferences
Add a new DWORD value and name it MinToTray
Set it equal to 1.
Restart Outlook, it should now minimize to the tray.
Now, when you minimize Outlook, you will see the icon in your system tray (the region of your desktop just to the left of the clock).
