How to remove Adobe Acrobat Plug-In from Office 2000, XP or 2003
Q: Every time I remove the Adobe PDF plug-in from the toolbar it comes back?
A: Adobe was trying to be helpful by making sure you don't "accidentally" remove the lovely PDF creation toolbar.

The easiest way to remove it is to go to your Microsoft Office folder, normally under Program Files.

Open your Office folder then the Startup folder and delete the file called "PDFMaker.dot".

Might be a good idea to backup the file somewhere if you ever want to put the plug-in back again, but not in the Startup folder or else it will just come back again.

Once you delete or remove the "PDFMaker.dot" file from your startup folder you might need to select remove PDF Toolbar one more time, but this time it will be gone for good.

This works for Office 2000, Office XP, and Office 2003. It is also a global command so it effects Word, Excel, Outlook and depending on the Office installation you have the rest of Office. Including PowerPoint and Publisher.

If you ever want the plug-in back you can resintall your Adobe Acrobat or just copy the plug-in back to the Startup folder and restart your office program.
